'Darling Sons' | Short Period Horror Film.

Role: Production Designer (2021).

'Darlings Sons', written and directed by Laura Jefferies at the University of Gloucestershire follows two Romani gypsy brothers who must carry their dead mother's body across the English countryside to lay her to rest in a family plot.  After not seeing each other for years, the brothers' animosity grows as the journey progresses and dark secrets about the family are revealed along the way.

Films like 'The Nightingale (2018)', 'The Lighthouse (2019)' and 'The Witch (2015)' provided the inspiration behind this period psychological horror set in the 1932. Shooting took place on location in the Gloucestershire countryside amidst the pandemic, will exclusively exterior scenes. The project was a fantastic opportunity to research and hone in on a specific time period and culture whilst also adhering to the stylistic conventions of our wonderful director. My love of horror and psychology made this the perfect graduate film for me to work on.
